Another SNOW Day in MN

Yesterday we had grass and dry ground today SNOW again!

So I thought I would share some pictures I took from inside the house looking at the snow coming down! The pictures really do not do justice to the snow coming
down, it is big, heavy snowflakes.

We must have 3 to 4 inches already,
it is hard to tell as we also have winds of 40 miles per hour.

They had said we would be getting 12 - 18 inches
but now they changed it to 8 - 12 inches,
the wind is making for white out conditions.

It is beautiful to see as long as you do not have to go out in it.....
A Perfect Day for being in the Studio and creating ART!

Makin's Clay Explore The Possibilities at CHA

I am finally getting around to posting the pictures from our Makin's Clay Class at CHA Winter.
Sue Kelsey taught making a pin from Makin's Clay using the Makin's Clay Texture Sheets and a Lisa Pavelka Water Slide; while I showed how to do a Mixed Media project with Makin's Clay.

Everyone was busy exploring the possibilities of Makin's Clay.

Doing two projects showed the versatility of Makin's Clay to the students.

Here are some great pictures of the finished projects!

Maybe it is hard to get great detail from these pictures but everyone's projects turned out great.

And every student's projects turned out just a little different than the student next to them.

Showing how you can make any project your own by choosing colors and patterns you like.

While I did not get pictures of everyone's projects, don't you agree the ones pictured here look great!

I'd like to thank the students who are pictured here on my blog for letting me take their pictures and allowing me to post them!

Thinking GREEN with ART Boxes and Earth Safe Finishes

I wanted to make some storage containers for the shelves in my new studio as a way to keep things organized and out of site. The containers also had to express my ARTY side.
So I thought what better way then to go GREEN by using things that you would normally throw away. I started with empty corrugated boxes & magazine pages then combined those with
EARTH SAFE FINISHES to make the boxes pictures above.

So far I have made 10 of these boxes and
like how they look in the shelves.
They do keep things looking organized in my room and
hold a lot of things.
This was the perfect GREEN project don't you think?

My New Studio is Showing some Progress

After months of working on sorting and moving things from several other rooms (and basement) of my house my New Studio is coming together. I will be showing glimpses over the next week or so, my goal is to have it totally done by the end of the month. The above picture is just some of the items that are not staying in my studio, I am trying to streamline and get rid of the things I have had for years and never used or no longer use.

Here is a picture of some of my shelving (purchased at Ikea). I have an entire wall
(about 12 feet) of wonderful shelving,
so I am trying to make it look nice and neat yet usable.

It has been a good project going through everything I have and
really deciding what I use and want to keep.......
I will be donating some of the items I am getting rid of and with the rest I will be having a huge sale with unbelievable prices so the product goes to someone who will use it.

Stay tunes for more photos and updates!
