Doing a Domino Swap

Do you do any swaps?

They are a fun way to exchange art with friends and/or online groups.

Give it a try, you do not have to do such a large one as this, many swaps are smaller, where there might be 10 participants, an easier number to work with....check them out and Enjoy the FUN!

Here is a sampling of the 50+ DOMINO'S I have done for a swap this month.......they are all basically the same, just different base colors.

I will show you the domino's I get in return from the swap when they come.

A bit of ART!

Collage ART letters that is!
I made these to go on top of my
studio shelf's......

This was a fun way to use up more of those scraps
we all have around and create something
I could display in my studio!

More ATC's

I completed 20 more ATC's tonight and thought I would post a picture of them.
before calling it a night!

Catching up on ATC's

ATC's (Artist Trading Cards) are fun to make, trade and collect. I do a lot of trading with friends and on-line which has been a wonderful way to share my ART and have small pieces of ART from many designers I admire.

My stash of ATC's was running a bit low, so last night I got out some of my supplies and was able to whip up 22 new ATC's (pictured above). I will be making more ATC's tonight so I will be ahead of the game, at least for awhile.

If you have never made an ATC, they are little works of ART in the size of a trading card, 2 1/2" x 3 1/2". You can do any medium you prefer: paint, stamp, collage, sew, whatever you like; after all it is your ART to share.
Have fun and start trading and collecting!

Collage ART

When I had my Altered Ladies Group over last night for good food, good company and ART, we had a great time.

The project we did was kind of mindless which can be great to do sometimes, because then there are no rules, no mistakes, no problems.

I asked each of the girls to bring a glue stick and their scraps, you know we all have them, those little pieces of paper which are to big to throw away yet to small to use alone.......I suggested it would be best if they brought scraps in a color family that would go together. I supplies card stock for the base to build on and we began gluing down all of those scraps without rhyme, reason, or even thinking.......some of the girls were really wondering and not liking what they had going on......I assured them it would turn out great, we were creating a new usable piece of paper.....after everything was glued down they could stamp, emboss or do both to give the collage a cohesive look. Then it was time to cut the collage paper into shapes to be used in projects. The picture above shows my collage cut in ATC size pieces waiting to be embellished.

This picture has another portion of the collage paper used to decorate the cover of this small journal.

Get out your scraps and use your creativity to make some wonderful papers, then use those papers on cards, books, tags, ATC's and more!

Just be sure to have fun and remember there are no mistakes just creativity!

My Studio is Looking Great!

Take a look at these wonderful shelves......an entire wall filled with supplies, books and ART!
I still need to make some more Collage Boxes for a more finished look to the shelves
and the wicker baskets will be taken out once I get my ribbon shelf
that a friend is making for me, but for now this is functional.

In this picture you can see part of my 10" counter, I have storage on each end and in the middle. On both sides of the walls (picture below also) I have some shelves my son made, they are perfect for all of my paints, ink pads, glitter, powders, all the small things I use often.....they are out and easily accessible.

The curtains are not up yet because I have only one set so far, they are on back order at the store.....I will take pictures as soon as I get the rest and they are all installed.

Here is a small wheeled cabinet with large drawers that holds my paper cutters and tons of other things; along with my printer. I love this!

Here is a wonderful movable work station that is counter height which is great when I prefer to stand and work (which is a lot). Below is tons of room for machines and totes filled with tools. My ribbon shelf will go on the wall above this counter.

Here is my desk and my beautiful Mac Computer that I still have to learn how to use along the CS4 I have installed on it......I am looking forward to getting some play time on it.
I still have to put up a bulletin board or something above the desk I have not quite decided what.

Under this window will go a sewing cabinet for my sewing machine and serger, I have not been able to find one I like that will fit nicely in this space. There is a closet to the right of the picture that has storage units and shelves......the battery on my camera died or there would be a picture of the inside.......

I will take more pictures once I get things up on the walls, curtains up and such.

I am pleased at how my studio turned out, it is spacious and bright, I have lots of different work stations, tons of storage, great lighting, big windows and more!

Hope you enjoyed seeing my space!

Now to create ART!
