So it took more that a couple days...

Here is a photo of the new furniture at the mall with one of the transformed trash cans

and one of the planters.

Don't they look fabulous...

As stated in the previous post the trash cans and planters were 

transformed using Earth Safe Finishes

thus making them a perfect addition with the

new furniture and carpet through out the mall.

Believe it or not I am still catching up from CHA...

when I got home I had deadlines and my day job.

So I am just now catching with with some of the paper work,

magazines and books I brought back from the CHA Winter Show.

This evening I was checking out my new Clearsnap catalog

when I saw a full page picture of the 

little baby shoes I did for them 

using Colorbox Crafter's Ink 

so I thought I would share that picture here.

The shoes turned out so adorable and
they were easy to do with

Colorbox Crafter's Ink 

and one flower stamp!

Crazy Crafter's Countdown

The first installment of a game show

Transformation....thinking GREEN!

By day I am the Director of Operations for the Viking Plaza Mall in Alexandria MN

We are in the process of doing major updates throughout the mall.

New furniture was on the list but along with the furniture would come 

the need for new trash cans and planters, 

 in looking at the trash cans and planters we had

the only thing wrong with them was they were

out of date...always thinking GREEN

I felt I could transform them with with the help of

Earth Safe Finishes.

 

Here is what the trash cans looked like

We sprayed them with 2 coats of

Black Perfect Paint.

 

We added Translucent Shimmers in shades of

Copper, Gold Sparkle, Gold Pearl and Pearl

to the sides and then 2 coats of Marine Varnish.

I ordered 2 gallons of the Black Perfect Paint

and Marine Varnish...

amazingly good paint really does make a difference!

We were able to do 2 coats of paint and varnish

on 9 large trash cans and 9 18" - 20" plantersa 

and 3 mall directories

using less than 1 1/2 gallons...

I ordered a gallon of each of the Translucent Shimmers

 

and as the picture above shows used just

ounces of each color...proving again

good paints and finishes go along way!

In a couple days I will post pictures 

of the trash cans and planters

with the new furniture!

Tiffany came by the Makin's Clay booth

where I was doing demos 

and we able to get this picture.

Aleene Jackson of Aleene's Tacky Glue

 

Inspired at Home held a LIVE PJ Party Event

at the CHA Super Show last week and

All I can say is it was a great show...

I was fortunate enough to be able

to help out at the event.

Manufacturers were so generous with their products and

gave away wonderful prizes to the attendees,

it was a fun time for everyone!

The highlight of my night came when

I got to meet Aleene Jackson 

the first lady of CRAFTS and 

creator of Aleene's Tacky Glue in the Gold Bottle!

My dear friend Lisa Rojas had her camera and took this picture.

For once I don't even think I took that bad of a picture....
