Simple Solutions are the Best

In the previous post I have a picture of the Easter Bunny with my grandchildren....
that Easter Bunny costume was bought several years ago
and every year before it has to be worn
I realize the back of the head still needs a closure...

We bought the costume new but it came with no way to close up the back of the head
so in the past we have tried taping it and pinning it but these solutions did not work well.
So this year before it had to be worn I thought of Velcro Brand Industrial Strength Closures,
they have adhesive on and would be a quick and simple solution....

It worked perfect and was so easy!

Giant Easter Eggs

As many of you know I have a 24/7 Day Job
where I am the Director of Operations for a Shopping Mall....
as is the case with most jobs these days we wear many
hats for whatever position we hold....
while I attend to the daily operations of the mall and the needs of the tenants;
I also do the advertising and plan the events for the mall....

We have had an Easter Bunny coming out the mall the day before Easter
for the past 12 years.  Last year at the last minute we decided to try having the Easter Bunny
sit for pictures instead of walking around....hoping it would not get so hot in the costume....
this worked out well so this year we wanted to decorate a Easter area for the Easter Bunny to sit at.

I decided to make some Giant Easter Eggs to help decorate the Easter area...

I used Foam Core Board, Tissue Paper, Beacon Fast Finish Decoupage, Tulip Fashion Glitter and Velcro Brand Industrial Strength Adhesive Strips.

I made easels from foam core board to attach to the back of the eggs to hold them up.

Here is a picture of the Easter area with the eggs in place, they turned out great and added some color for picture taking....Pictured with the Easter Bunny are my grandson and granddaughter....

Back from NAMTA

This was my first time attending
and it was a wonderful show filled with inspiration.
NAMTA is the International Art Material Trade Show
and is the largest trade association dedicated exclusively to the
ART Materials Industry.

I was doing demos in the ART Clay World Booth
for Makin's No Bake Polymer Clay.

People who had never tried Makin's No Bake Polymer Clay
were impressed with the results!

Designer Crafts Connection Spring/Easter Project

Quick and Easy Pastel Tags to DYE for

Supplies: Easter egg coloring kit, tags, bowls, water, vinegar (for some kits not all require it), wax paper.

Follow the instructions on the kit package to make dye in the colors of your choice, using a separate bowl for each color.
Place tags into dye, the longer you let them soak the more intense color you will get…..this is something you will have to play with.
When you are happy with the color (they will darken up a little as they dry), lay your tags out on wax paper to dry. Turning tags occasionally. Let them dry for several hours or overnight.  If they curl up a bit you can place them under a book to flaten out or iron them.

Now you should have a rainbow of pastel tags all ready to use in all sorts of creative ways.
ENJOY!!

Scrapbooking with Velcro Brand Fasteners

This is a Scrapbook page that I did in a class a few years ago at a local Scrapbook Store.  I loved the way it turned out but never finished is as I did not want to put it into a scrapbook.  I wanted to display it and be able to change the picture out.  With the birth of my first granddaughter I thought this would be a perfect way to display her pictures through the years.

I added her name to the bottom and thought to use Velcro Brand Fasteners on the photo.

So I placed the fasteners on the page and the back of the photo.

So I will be able to change out the photo easily as desired.

I placed the page on mat board to make it sturdy and will display it on an easel.
