Quick & Easy Gift Idea

It is time again to replenish my
Handmade Gifts
to have on hand for
a small birthday gift, a thank you
or just because gift....

Tonight I decided to use the
that my friend Eileen Hull
designed for Sizzix
to make this a Quick & Easy Project!

I chose some fabric and decoupaged it
onto the front and back of mat board
before die cutting.

on the inside of the memo holder...

Then placed a post it note pad on top
which will help to hold it in place.

to stack the flower pieces...

Then attached a Press and Close Fastener
to the back of the flower...

and placed in onto the front of the memo holder...

which makes it easy to open and close....

Here is a side view of the memo holder....
Quick and Easy!

Each designer will create a project using the
products & tools received from the sponsors along with
3 other items to create a
Mixed Media project which will be
showcased at the Westcott Booth during the show
this is also a fundraiser where the projects
will be auctioned off in an effort to
raise funds for CharityWings.org

Changeable Purse Quick and Easy

Make a Changeable Purse Quick & Easy
with Velcro and great Trims from Expo International!

To make this super easy start with a pre-made purse;
I used a denim one.
Expo International has some great trims,
Press and Close Fasteners by Velcro make this project no-sew.

I used Non- Stick Scissors by Wescott
to cut the 3/4" Press and Close Fasteners
that I had in half since some of the trims
I was using was narrower than 3/4".
I placed one side of the Press and Close Fasteners
onto the purse around the edge where I wanted
the trim to be.

I placed the other side of the
Press and Close Fasteners
onto the trim

and pressed the trim in place on the purse.

in half and placed one side on this white trim
so I am able to change out the purse
Quick and Easy.

This purse can now be changed
Quick and Easy
with an assortment of trims
How cool is that.....

Makin's Memory Frame with Velcro

Makin's Clay has these great Memory Frames
which I knew would be a perfect gift
to make for my daughter...
and my new Grandson!

While this project is not complete....
I want to show you how the process
and how Velcro Brand Adhesive makes it easy to finish
when the time is right!
There are several Memory Frames to choose from

Each kit comes with a package of
so that you are able to capture
a foot print, hand print or
to create something for the frame.
I rolled out the clay.
I used footprint rubber stamps
to create temporary footprints
for the Memory Frame,
as Jaxson is only a month old;
I will take his foot impressions
when he is about 3 months old
and his beet are  a bit stonger
to be pressed for a good impression.

These are small so there is enough left over clay
to use for the real foot impressions,
just be sure to keep the left over clay in a
zip lock bag to keep it from drying out.

Let these dry completely
which can take about 48 hours
depending upon thickness.

on the back of the clay impressions.

and also on the fabric which I used as a backdrop
in the frame.   By using the Velcro Brand Adhesive
it will be easy to change out the
rubber stamped impressions for
the real ones once they are made!

Here are two sides of the frame,
if you follow my blog you may recognize
that the lettering and background
match the curtains and boarder
I made for the nursery ...
The letters here were made from left over
Donald Duck pictures I had.

Here is another way the frame can look,
the picture side is not finished yet,
since it in a shadow box, I want to find
a small Donald Duck to put in there at the
bottom to go with the theme of
the nursery.

Here is another way the frame can go,
of course the real footprints
will take up a bit more room than these
which will fill up this side of the shadow box better.

Here is another way the frame can go.

This photo shows how easy it is
for the frame to turn.
These make great gifts....
check them out!

Simply Spray Tie Die Tee Shirt

Callie (my 17 year old daughter) did a Tie Die Tee Shirt demonstration
at our local JoAnn's using Simply Spray
and liked it so much that she bought some to
bring home and do some shirts for herself.

Here is how she did one of the shirts.

First of all she laid out plastic to cover her work surface with newspaper on top.

She twisted her tee and sprayed yellow first.

Then she opened it and twisted again....

to spray pink.

Then she opened it up and twisted in the opposite direction
and sprayed the yellow and did the same for the pink.

The shirt turned out great!
She repeated the same for the back side of the shirt.

Designers Craft Blog Connection: Patriotic

The Designers Craft Connection Blog Hop theme for this month is "Patriotic"

So I created this Quick and Easy Candle Sleeve....

To make one you will need:
Makin's Texture Sheet (your choice)
Makin's Star Cutters
Makin's Clay Roller
Beacon's Quick Grip Glue
Red Pillar Candle

Instructions:
Roll out blue clay with the clay roller to about 1/8" place texture sheet on top and roll with clay roller to create texture.  Use star cutter and cut out 8 stars; let dry.  Repeat with white clay.  Overlap blue stars over white stars gluing in place with Beacon's Quick Grip Glue; hold for just a few seconds for it to bond.  I used 16 stars for a 3" pillar candle you may have to use more or less depending upon the size of your candle.

Check out other Patriotic Ideas by clicking hop forward or hop back on the Designers Connection Blog Hop Logo on the left side of my post.
