Impress ART Metal Stamps

I want to share a one of the projects
I did for the ImpressArt booth for
the CHA Show next week....
ImpressArt makes great Metal Stamps
they wanted some displays
for their booth that were
"Out of the Box" or
different then what is normally done
with their stamps which of course
is stamping on metal....

Since I work a lot with
I thought it would be the perfect
product to try with the stamps....

I chose to make a
Memory Frame
using the stamps to
create the weight in clay

Then I used the Foot Print Stamps
to impress a boarder
into the clay background....
I brushed on
Metallic Powders
to bring out the detail in the
stamped images....

If you are going to be at
CHA next week stop by the
ImpressArt booth (#2719)
to check out all of the great stamps
they have, do a make and take
and to see the other great
projects that were made for the booth
by my designer friends:

If you will not be able to attend CHA
be sure to check out their
web site at ImpressArt

The Best Little Helper!

When cutting hundreds of items for CHA
a good helper is key
to getting the job done....

I had my 2 1/2 year old grandson this past weekend
and sometimes I think his favorite place
to be in my house is my studio....
asking if he can play with me....

So since I had a huge project and he
wanted to help...I put him to work...

I showed him how to run the sizzix die cutter....

 He stayed on task;

and had to use one finger
on top of the other....

and he got the job done....
we actually worked and played
in my studio for hours
and he was just as happy as can be!
He was the best little helper!

Addicted to Cool2Cast

I have been so busy with deadlines
and creating projects for the CHA Winter Show
that I decided to take a break and
play with something NEW....

I thought it would be a good time to
try Cool2Cast....
I love how easy Tiffany Windsor
makes it looks when she
demo's it on Cool2Craft
Plus I have the necklace and ring
Tiffany gave me, so I know it really
does look amazing, you would never
think that is was a fiber plaster....

I got out my package of Cool2Cast
a measuring cup, water and
a plastic zip lock bag.

I measured the Cool2Cast and water
into the zip lock bag.

Mixed to to a pancake like batter...

 I poured it into molds...

It only took about an hour
for the Cool2Cast to set...

I turned the molds upside down
and the pieces popped right out...
I let them dry completely.
Then I got out crayons, inks, paints and stamps
it was so quick and easy to color them...
then I added dimensional glaze on the top,
let that dry and added some glaze to the sides...
now I have several pieces for jewelry and
other projects,,,,

What I found was that Cool2Cast is
very addictive because it is so easy
and I do not really see how it can
messed up....

What  I know now is that
I need to look for some more molds
and get some more

Playing is a very good thing!

CHA Designer Giving Tree

The 2012 CHA Winter Show
is less than 3 weeks away...
This year there will be a
CHA Designer Giving Tree Display

Every CHA Designer member
has the opportunity to create an ornament
reflecting one of the nine exhibiting charities.

My ornament was made for:
Charity Wings/Scrapbook Royalty
Charity Wings hosts and sponsors crafting events
across the county in order to raise money for
worthy, charitable causes.

I choose to make an ANGEL with WINGS
which will represent CHARITY WINGS....

Although you can not tell by the photo
this Angel is made with
Wire, Glitter &
Styrofoam.

Journaling with Designers Craft Connection

This months theme for the
Designers Craft Connection
is Journaling...
it could be making a journal,
writing in a journal,
journaling in a scrapbook....
whatever pertains to journaling....

I love journals weather I buy them or
make them....I am always writing things down
and having a great JOURNAL to write
in is an added bonus....

Below are some pictures
of Journals I have made....

These are some of the first
BAG Book Journals
I made and taught workshops on....

 This is a more recent
BAG Book Journal
that I made for my daughters wedding.

 Here are some quickly journals
made easily from Memo Notebooks....
just cover with cardstock,
decorative papers,
or paint and decorate!

These were inked up and stamped...
another quick and easy technique!

These were made from
watercolor paper,
vintage book pages,
stamped and
hand bound with some beading....
GREAT for Art Journals!

There is a BLINKIE with the
Designer Craft Connection Logo
on the left side of my blog...
Hop Forward or
Hop Backward to see
the other Journaling ideas
on this hop....
ENJOY!

Pre-Paring for CHA

The countdown to CHA Winter
is on as it is just a few short
weeks away....

So I am busy pre-paring for
my Makin's Clay Make and Take

Rolling out thin sheets of clay...

(I am using a small amount of glue
for extra security since the clay is not completely dry)

I am also doing the same in white clay....

The cutting apart so it will be ready to go to the show....

The Make and Take will be
Changeable Headband....
the embellishment will be made

The reason why I need to have
the clay done in advance and put on the
ahead of time is that then
they will glue the embellishment
onto dry clay, it will not stick as
well directly on the
since the clay is moist out of the package....
